I would like to invite you to join the global team of “Friends of GEMS.” This new and innovative concept is designed to engage St. Lucians and friends of St. Lucia in the socio-economic development of the island, during and beyond this COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.
Saint Lucia is being affected by climate change and COVID-19, which impact vulnerable citizens. The Gems Youth, Agricultural and Wellness Village will reduce vulnerability through a model for community capacity building, strengthen the local economy, protect cultural identity and restore the ecological, social and economic wellbeing of the island. This self-sustainable agricultural and wellness village will enrich the local economy, increase food security and the educational outcomes of the youth. We will document the development and implementation of this program so that it can be replicated in different locations. This will be a partnership including various stakeholders.
This will present you with opportunities to understand this dynamic industry, visit places and interact with a diverse range of cultures. Whether you are a professor, student, entrepreneur or professional, there is an opportunity for you to contribute to the development of Saint Lucia by promoting and marketing the Village and all its products to your friends, colleagues, family and neighbor. In addition, you will be provided with business cards with your special code to identify you as the referral.
